Why this moment matters
The biggest technological shift of our lifetime is happening right now, and 1Password is perfectly positioned to bring out the best for our customers. 1Password is helping organisations around the world to unlock productivity benefits without losing trust, safety, or control, as AI reshapes how work gets done, how decisions are made, and who (or what) gets access to our customers' data.
It's an enormous opportunity, and we have both the foundation and the products – from Unified Access and Enterprise Password Manager to SaaS Manager and Device Trust – to shape how the EMEA market navigates this evolving landscape. We have a large and growing user base in EMEA, and as we continue scaling this growth, I’m excited to keep hiring ambitious talent to help us build quickly towards our mission: 1Password protects identities and provides trusted access for people and agents. We unlock productivity by making security and privacy simple for every human and organization.
The team we’re growing in EMEA
When I joined 1Password in 2024, I shared our vision: we were laying the foundation for growth in EMEA – bringing in an early dedicated team to set the standard for how we operate and building culture and behaviours that would let us scale the right way. I talked about three traits that I look for in any member of my team: drive, coachability, and role ownership.
In 2026, things look a little different at 1Password. We’ve evolved from laying the groundwork in EMEA to accelerating with a much bigger runway ahead. We’re focused on investing in the region and collaborating across defined teams like Sales, Marketing, and RevOps to move with speed and momentum. I still hire for the same key traits, but here’s how they have evolved today:
Drive: In this chapter, drive is about having a bias to action and the discipline to scale. I’m looking for people who choose to level up every day, mastering new products and sales motions to help us raise the bar together. Our work isn’t easy, and you’ll need to be intrinsically motivated to achieve excellence.
Coachability: As AI reshapes the pace of work, coachability will be your superpower. The scope of what we’re taking to market is quickly expanding, so we need people who seek feedback early, apply it quickly even in the face of ambiguity, and keep improving their craft every day.
Role ownership: This is perhaps the area that has changed the most since my last blog. AI has changed how we do almost every role and having the curiosity to embrace it has started to shine through as a key part of each role. We’ve also just made the announcement that we’re moving into securing access at run time so we’re now also looking for people who’ve had success in DevSecOps, but that’s not a requirement. Whether it’s curiosity or a niche skill set, we’re looking for readiness to lean in and make an impact.
As our high-performance culture has matured, we’ve also made the practices that help us thrive explicit. We call them the 1Password Behaviors for Success: take full ownership, proactively contribute, practice a growth mindset, be adaptable and resilient, and collaborate effectively.

What energizes me about scaling is the opportunity to keep growing a highly diverse team, one that’s motivated by the challenges ahead and has the skills to thrive in our high-performing environment.
We move fast, and we make that pace sustainable through initiatives like quarterly wellness days, professional development opportunities for everyone, and employee resource groups that champion a sense of belonging across the organisation.
We’re also being intentional about leadership in-region. We’re building an EMEA leadership team that brings different perspectives, backgrounds, and ways of thinking, because the best ideas come from shared purpose and an inclusive environment where everyone feels supported to do their best work. Today, we're proud to have strong representation from many employee resource groups, including Pride, Women at 1Password, and AfroBits.
