Step 01 - The agent asks
At the login screen, the agent asks for the credential for your account. You can allow it to connect to 1Password.
Step 02 - you decide
Approve or deny login access through 1Password. Any new account information is saved in your 1Password vault.
Step 03 - 1Password logs in
1Password autofills the password or one-time code. Your agent only sees that access is granted and doesn’t see your password.

Will an AI agent see my passwords?
No. 1Password for Agents lets AI agents sign in without receiving or seeing the credential. When an agent reaches a sign-in form, it uses a unique digital key to verify its identity to 1Password. The person sees which credential it needs and why, and then chooses whether to approve the request. If approved, 1Password fills it directly into the sign-in form. Once the website accepts the login, 1Password removes the credential so the agent can’t read or reuse it as it continues the task.
