John Torrey is the Chief Business Officer at 1Password, leading corporate development, partnerships, and ecosystem strategy to drive sustainable growth. His focus is on furthering M&A opportunities, strengthening strategic and technology alliances, and expanding routes to market that extend 1Password’s reach across the identity security landscape.

In addition to his role at 1Password, Torrey is a Venture Partner at Madrona, where he invests in emerging technology companies. He previously served as Chief Ecosystem Officer at Qualtrics, where he built the company’s global partner network, executed large-scale acquisitions, and helped lead one of the largest private software transactions in history. Earlier, as Chief Corporate Development Officer at SAP, he led M&A and strategic business development, shaping SAP’s cloud growth strategy and integrating major public‑cloud acquisitions, including Concur, Ariba, and Fieldglass.
