Challenges
Since 2009, Alliants has helped top hospitality brands connect with millions of guests through award-winning apps and chat solutions. With a growing business of over 100 employees across the U.K. and U.S., Alliants needed to control access to SaaS apps, gain visibility into license usage, and automate manual processes while reducing operational costs.
Alliants adopted 1Password Enterprise Password Manager and 1Password’s SaaS Management product, Trelica by 1Password, both parts of the 1Password Extended Access Management suite of solutions, to address:
A growing SaaS ecosystem with limited visibility and control. Alliants replaced its previous solution with 1Password to mature its access governance over applications, uncover shadow IT, and manage more than 700 active tools without manual, error-prone processes.
Manual, time-consuming workflows. Alliants was challenged with maintaining app provisioning, license reviews, and compliance reporting, all of which required significant manual effort.
High-value client data protection. Alliants needed to maintain safe access to sensitive guest information integrated with hotel properties while ensuring compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and PCI.
Enterprise-level password management requirements. Alliants chose 1Password due to its enterprise-level security and scalability, which aligned with the company’s rapid growth goals across all departments.
A single solution for security and automation
By adopting 1Password Extended Access Management, Alliants gained a centralized way to manage identity and access across its organization. The solution combines password management with advanced SaaS discovery and access capabilities, giving Alliants complete visibility and control without adding complexity.
This unified approach enables the company to strengthen its security posture, streamline operations, and scale efficiently, while delivering a frictionless experience for employees.
“We found the sweet spot: strong security, better visibility into our apps and spend, and automation,” said Nick Wood, VP InfoSec and Internal Support at Alliants. “1Password’s products were easy to adopt and gave us everything we needed in one place, at a cost that made sense.”
Security that works quietly in the background
The company’s migration from its previous password manager to 1Password Enterprise Password Manager was seamless. Credentials and vaults were transferred intact, allowing employees to access critical tools without interruption while significantly reducing password-related support tickets. Adoption was swift thanks to the password manager’s user-friendly design and 1Password’s clear guidance and onboarding support.
“1Password has made it easier for our users to follow the security controls we put in place, such as generating strong, unique credentials and multi-factor authentication, by simplifying how they store credentials, manage tokens, and share sensitive information securely,” said Wood.
Now, employees always have access to the credentials they need, exactly when they need them. The transition has noticeably reduced password-related noise for IT.

Automating the ordinary to deliver the extraordinary
1Password’s SaaS Management product, Trelica by 1Password, simplified access governance with a fully automated, scalable process. Within three months, Alliants launched over 100 workflows to handle license reclamation, compliance checks, access requests, and more. The centralized app hub empowers employees to request access to approved tools, while automated provisioning and deprovisioning workflows keep permissions in check in real-time. This reduces access risks and speeds up day-to-day access changes.
Over three months, workflow automation saved Alliants over 15 days of manual effort by completing 1,500 workflows—each eliminating about five minutes of manual, repetitive work.
“Every improvement we make behind the scenes ultimately translates into further success for our customers,” said Wood.
Teams across the company have complete visibility into SaaS usage and costs, while the InfoSec and Internal Support team retains precise control over access without manual intervention. It also allows Alliants to get a handle on IT sprawl by surfacing newly discovered apps and classifying them as high-risk for review and remediation. By categorizing apps as high-risk or low-risk, Alliants can target specific groups or guide the organization as needed.
With Trelica by 1Password, Alliants has complete control over its SaaS ecosystem, saving time, improving compliance, and allowing teams to focus on driving innovation. In just three months, the Trelica by 1Password cost savings report helped to uncover over £19,000 in savings: £12,500 from users who hadn’t used an application in over 60 days or no longer needed it, and £7,000 from users who had left Alliants.
By streamlining license management and reducing IT sprawl, Trelica by 1Password has saved us money and freed our team for more strategic work.

Protecting the trust at the core of every client relationship
This strong foundation also builds confidence with the luxury hospitality brands and partners that rely on Alliants’ guest experience platform. Rigorous compliance requirements for frameworks like ISO 27001 and PCI, enhanced visibility, and reliable operational processes enable Alliants to navigate detailed client audits and due diligence requests confidently.
For Alliants, one of the most impactful features has been the ability to securely share credentials with clients via guest accounts. This allows external users access to a single shared vault, creating a centralized and controlled way to grant access to specific systems. It streamlines internal workflows and accelerates client onboarding without compromising security.
Going all in on automation across the employee lifecycle
The next focus for Alliants is automating employee onboarding and offboarding procedures with Trelica by 1Password. By integrating these processes into their existing workflows, the team can accelerate employee provisioning, tighten access controls from the outset, and minimize manual handoffs as the company expands. This next phase of automation will save even more time, enabling Alliants to continue delivering the high level of security and reliability that clients expect.
“Automation is the foundation, not the finish line,” said Wood. “As we continue to grow, 1Password will help us move faster and innovate in ways that keep us—and our customers—ahead.”
