Abe Ankumah

Chief Product Officer

Abe Ankumah is the Chief Product Officer at 1Password. Abe has more than 20 years of experience spanning enterprise SaaS, cybersecurity, AI, and networking—working at both large-scale technology companies and high-growth startups.

Prior to joining 1Password, Abe served as Vice President & General Manager at VMware, overseeing the VeloCloud SD-WAN/SASE business. He arrived at VMware through the acquisition of Nyansa, a pioneering AIOps startup he co-founded and led as CEO. Previously, he held senior leadership roles at Meraki (acquired by Cisco) and Aruba Networks (now part of HP), spearheading key initiatives to accelerate product development and market adoption. Early in his career, Abe was part of the founding engineering team at Fulcrum Microsystems (acquired by Intel), pioneering advancements in low-latency Ethernet switching. Abe began his career working at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

Abe holds a Bachelor of Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is also an inventor on multiple patents. 

Outside of work, Abe enjoys traveling, gourmet cooking, skiing, rooting for the San Francisco 49ers, and spending quality time with his wife and their two children.
